Concert Crowd

How would you like to have Grant come to your house or backyard and put on a private concert for you and your family and friends? This is called a "house concert," and it's a unique way to bring the art of storytelling with music into your home. The guest list is by your invitation, so it is not open to the public. Only people whom you invite and who RSVP can attend.

How it Works

Hosting a house concert is not complicated. First, you need a comfortable room big enough to hold at least 10 people. The average house concert typically has 10-20 people in attendance. The host sets a donation amount of $20 for each attendee, which is given to the artist after the show.

Grant will bring his guitars and a small PA for rooms that require it (small rooms may not need any amplification). He will also bring his CDs and other merchandise for attendees to purchase if they choose to.

Most hosts set up the show as a "potluck," where attendees bring a snack or dessert item to share before, after, and during the show, including intermission. The host usually provides some basics like water and coffee. Whether alcohol is provided or allowed is entirely at the host's discretion. It's their home, after all, so it's their choice.

In some cases, the host will make dinner for the artist before the show, and even a room to stay in for the night of the show. These are optional and at the host's discretion.

Grant performs acoustically without any electronics or backing tracks. An accomplished guitar player and singer, he will enthrall you and your guests with his folk and American Roots songs and the stories behind them. His albums and songs have spent more than four months on the Billboard charts, including 11 weeks in the top ten. You can hear a pin drop when he's performing because people are hanging on every word. Sound interesting? Reach out to Grant here on the website or via email at grant@grant-maloy-smith.com.

Grant's house concert schedule is not publicly displayed because these events are, by definition, private. For public events, see the show schedule below.
