Pray for Power

Pray for Power - Poster
Feature film, drama/action, composer of original score

HEATHER (Lisa Boyle) has been struggling in Boston to break into the high stakes world of modeling for years. Just as she is on the brink of her first major breakthrough, she witnesses a brutal murder. Although she tries to conceal her identity, it is not long until the killers learn of her existence, and Heather along with her reluctant boyfriend JAMIE, find themselves being pursued throughout Boston by deadly criminals.

Without warning, HEATHER and JAMIE are pulled headlong into a nocturnal world of high stakes money laundering, blackmail and murder. The two are, dragged onto a rocket ride through the lurid underbelly of Boston after midnight. When, in addition, the press links HEATHER to the high profile in murder case, she finds her career spiraling toward disaster as the killers continue to close in on her.

It is not long until HEATHER realizes that she has no choice, but to confront the villain’s head on. She uses herself as bait to trap the killers, setting the stage for the story's violent climax, which takes place seventeen stories above the city of Boston. At this moment, her only choice is to … Pray for Power.

When Brad first showed me the great look of this film, and I experienced its raw humanity, I knew that the score had to be as tough and uncompromising as the film and story itself. I wanted it to be gritty, but using the orchestra as the underbelly, but use modern percussion and guitars for flavor and edge. I really like the way the score turned out. I had written a James Bond like opening titles theme, but Brad and Marc really wanted a tough-sounding rock song, which wove in the main aspects of the song, so I dipped into my high school years listening to Alice Cooper, and wrote the title track “Pray for Power,” which I still enjoy listening to today.
