Old Black Roller

The richly layered opening track from Billboard top 10 album DUST BOWL: AMERICAN STORIES, "Old Black Roller" looks through an Oklahoma rancher's eyes as an enormous dust storm races toward him. Called "black rollers" in the 1930s, dust storms ravaged the Great Plains, destroying farms and lives, and uprooting millions of people who were left as homeless in their own country. Grant Maloy Smith paints a vivid picture of the fear and terror of these black rollers.
