Short film, drama, composer of original score
An odd but charming short film about a young girl’s discovery of an inner “room” inside an enormous shrub outside her house. When she enters this world, she hears echoes and voices from the past. She soon figures out that the events that she is learning about are somehow related to her own mother’s choldhood years before, and some dramatic events which occured. Suddenly her present situation makes sense, and she gains a new understanding of how her life has come to be the way it is.
“I wanted a lush, orchestral sound for this film - and to underscore the childlike charm of her mystical discoveries. Shrub was an interesting and lovely project to work on.”
