Oneida
I was hired by the Onedia indian tribe of upstate NY to write the score for a “docudrama” which they had produced. This chronicles the life of their greatest leader, Oskanondoanha. The Oneidas were one of the few tribes which sided with the white colonists in the revolutionary war, fighting alongside Americans to gain their independence from Great Britain. This was a difficult story, filled with great travail.
❝I am very happy with the way the score came out for this movie. I was striving for a rich sound, at once beautiful and haunting, and with the “dogs of war” barking in the background with percussion and horns. It was really a great joy and honor to work with the Oneida people on this score.❞
