Singer/Songwriter
Hope High
Feature film, comedy, composer of original score
This was the first film produced by SCENE:TEENS, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping at-risk teens learn a craft - film making - from professionals. Seven mis-matched teenagers from an inner city high school are struc by the tragedy, when one of their own is killed by a bomb. Bumbling Special Agent SAM BRINDLE comes into the picture to track down the bomber.
❝I came into this picture near the end of shooting - when several source cue songs needed to be recorded. First, a comic rap number was needed for one of the protagonists, a character named KOOKIE WOODS. Then a more serious song was needed, called WHY, and beautfully sung by Wynell and Jason, two of the young actors. Finally WE ARE EACH OTHER, written and sung by Wynell. I was struck by the raw talent of these young people.❞
