Children of Providence

Children of Providence
2008, Drama, Feature film, sound design and foley
This feature length film tells the stories of people who own three stores in a small New England town. Their unique stories interweave and interact in unexpected ways, culminating in a heartfelt ending.

I have several distinct memories from the sound design on this film. The outdoor shots had a ton of wind noise in the mics, especially the lovely scene where the girls play in the shopping carts. I spent days fixing that, and the result is just great. Another was making the show at the end sound like the audience had 250 people in it, rather than 25. But perhaps more than anything was the great experience of working with editor Christian de Rezendes again, and with Gary Shore for the first time. This story and film has a unique and lovely vibe to it, and it was a real pleasure to be a part of it.
