Hollywood Music in Media Awards Nomination

I am so glad to report that I have been nominated in the HMMA (Hollywood Music in Media Awards) for my song "Old Black Roller" in the 2017 awards. Like the Grammys, they do a big awards show each year. In the case of the HMMAs the show will be this September in Hollywood. Thanks to the HMMA for this honor!

Billboard Charts - moving up!

Great news! I have moved up from #10 to #9 on the Billboard Americana/Folk album sales charts! And I'm on 11 other Billboard charts! Wow - this is like a dream come true for me!

Deepak Chopra

I was fortunate enough to meet the amazing Deepak Chopra in New York city tonight at a special event. He is bringing out a book and music album of his poetry, including some guest poets. The theme is "home" as seen through the eyes of first, second and third generation immigrants to America. It's a powerful topic - especially lately. Deepak is a brilliant man, with a kind heart.

Billboard charts - Top ten!

I am so pleased to tell everyone that my album Dust Bowl-American Stories, has moved up the Billboard charts in its second week into the TOP TEN of the Americana / Folk album sales charts! I am also #48 on the Country album sales charts. Thanks to all y'all for your support!

Recorded a one hour PBS radio concert

Today I recorded an hour long radio concert for Studio Session Live (www.StudioSessionLive.com). It was hosted by WICN Worcester DJ and music-scholar Nick Noble, who did a fabulous job. This show was recorded and will be edited for PBS/NPR radio stations around the USA. I'll find out later when and where it will air. Big thanks to producer Bob Crownfield, who does these every week and then gets them out to various stations.

WXCI-FM radio appearance today

Today I had the pleasure of appearing on WXCI 91.7FM in Danbury, CT. I was interviewed by Bobbie Cahill for an hour, on her show "Tea With B."
I also played 6 songs live in the studio, so I hope there were lots of people listening.
Thanks to Miss Bobbie and the whole crew at WXCI FM.

Dust Bowl Show in DC

Tonight I had an amazing show at the Epicure Cafe in Fairfax, VA - just outside of Washington DC. I say "amazing" because another songwriter - Stephen Coffee - had written his own album about the Dust Bowl, and a local organizer booked us to do a two-man show. So we went back and forth, playing songs from our respective albums! It was really enjoyable for me to share the stage with Steve, and hear his musical interpretation of the Dust Bowl. His album and songs are definitely more like "show tunes" - it could be made into a work of musical theatre. Mine is meant to be an American Roots album, where the songs have a common historical backdrop, so the sensibility is very different. But it was a great combination and the audience told us both how much they enjoyed our 2.5 hour show!

Show in DC next week!

Very excited to bring my Dust Bowl songs to the Epicure Cafe next week! I am doing a 2 man show with fellow Dust Bowl songwriter Stephen Coffee!
Wednesday June 28 at 7pm

Great Skype with Ricky from India

I had a fantastic Skype call with my dear friend Ricky Kej, from Bangalore, India today. We've been friends for years, and it's great to catch up!

Radio Interview from Scotland Today!

I had the great pleasure of doing an interview with Mark Waters on the Sounds Good radio show, from Scotland, UK. Ain't it amazing that they speak English just like we do? Wait… oh, never mind. It's possible that we took the language from them. LOL. Mark is a great host and interviewer, and we had a good time. He will be broadcasting it on his show over there real soon.
